GENERAL UPDATE

Hello to all and welcome! Thank you for visiting the page or following me on Twitter -@rceracreations or my Creations by Russell Cera Facebook page. Just a general update on creative things as I have not paid as much attention to this site as I should.  I look forward to more updates in regards to art and writing as well as other projects I continue to push forward on!

I've just completed a personal project, a birthday gift for my wife that I can't wait to print and frame for her! The subject is Ashley Purdy, bassist for the Black Veil Brides, and her absolute favorite person on the planet! I love doing portrait work and tattoo art for her and it's always a challenge artistically. This portrait in particular was very difficult as I had to hand draw and paint his own "art" - the tattoo work on his arms.  The piece was completely digitally illustrated and rendered from scratch taking well over 40 hours to complete!

I may choose another popular subject to create a high end digitally rendered portrait of so stay tuned for possible updates on that!

I will also resume the Dark Knight piece, which is meant to be an intense collage of imagery from the Nolan series.  I'm not sure exactly what characters or subjects it will include as of yet, as progress is very slow with the immense amount of detail necessary.

On the writing front, things have stalled somewhat, but I'm happy to announce that Gayle Cera is now collaborating with me and hopefully, co-writing and editing a story and possible others that have long been on my mind over hundreds of pages of excerpts.  It has been entirely difficult for me to push forward and writing has taken a back seat to the illustration and other creative pursuits as of late.

I am also happy to say that I have been concentrating on my guitar playing and have opened up a Youtube Channel called Trials of the Stay At Home Metal Guitarist! There I will be posting videos and lessons, hoping that in doing so it will improve my playing as well as instruct beginners and intermediates as well!

Thanks again for stopping by and drop me a line if you're interested in my work. Prints of many of the works can be purchased by contacting me directly and I'm available for commissioned work in any subject at this time!
