PORTRAIT GALLERY

Welcome to the Portrait Art Gallery! I've been a portrait artist for many years and continue to do so by commission or for loved ones, friends and relatives. The subject matter can be nearly anything from family, pets, celebrities, fictional characters, architecture, vehicles or whatever a client requests.  I work in both black and white or color, with varied sizes and pricing options.  Below are just a few examples of my portrait work over the years.

ENTERTAINMENT FIGURES

RONNIE RADKE - FALLING IN REVERSE

My latest completed piece is a 24 x 36 digitally hand illustrated, hand painted portrait of Ronnie Radke. The notorious "King of the Music Scene" front man extraordinaire of Falling In Reverse accepted a portrait for himself late in 2014 and it was completed mid-March of 2015. While I wanted to do a more traditional portrait (and plan to do a second of and for Ronnie later in 2015) I was really intrigued with the idea of doing something more tongue in cheek and symbolic of Ronnie's personality and bravado.  Having poured over countless photos and articles, I was really fond of photoshoots for Alternative Press magazine, where Ronnie was depicted as the President of the United States.  It immediately brought to mind the idea of incorporating Ronnie as the Uncle Sam figure and instead of the U.S. Army, he would WANT YOU of course, for Falling In Reverse! My main goal was to keep the imagery of Ronnie as faithful to the Uncle Sam pose as possible, using the same feel, technique and demeanor of the iconic character (or characters!) As Ronnie's portrait started to take shape, I began to incorporate other elements such as the Falling In Reverse logo bursting through the background, revealing excerpts of Radke's lyrics on torn shreds of the poster. To further embellish, I thought it might be an interesting idea for Ronnie to be holding a contract that stated the decree to join Falling In Reverse, set to the pledge of allegiance. In traditional "political propaganda" style Ronnie is also wearing three buttons on the lapels of his jacket.  However these are more personal nods to the artist himself. The first (top left) of which depicts the imagery from Falling In Reverse's latest album Just Like You. The next (bottom left) is Ronnie's logo for his clothing line Hoods Up.  The third at right is of course, dedicated to Ronnie's daughter Willow.  The slices and tattered surface of the iconic hat are meant to depict the artist's many struggles throughout his life and yet, Ronnie Radke has overcome and continues to do so with pride, honor, unequaled talent and a truly infectious sense of humor.  I truly hope Ronnie feels this portrait reflects all of it!
